The Starter Company Program is up and running in Toronto and the first five local young entrepreneurs have been selected to participate.
Funded by the Province of Ontario and delivered in Toronto by the City of Toronto, the Starter Company Program is targeted at 18- to 29-year-olds who are looking to start or grow a business.
The program helps selected participants implement their business plan by providing structured training, one-on-one consultation and advice, mentoring, and a grant of up to $5,000.
The first participants in Toronto are:
- Baldwin Chan
- Baldwin will be providing chiropractic services in Scarborough and building a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Steven Grewal and Kunal Arora
Steven and Kunal are focused on selling custom apparel in the City’s Financial District.
Alexa Hare – Hare of the Dog
Alexa aims to provide high quality dog walking and pet sitting in the Roncesvalles community.
Megan has launched a medical aesthetic company focused on cosmetic injectables including Botox and dermal fillers.
Marissa Maisslin and Michelle Organ
Marissa and Michelle opened a makerspace featuring a wood shop, ceramic studio and metal shop.
Applications to the Starter Company Program are still being accepted.
