Home Assistance Program helps qualified homeowners, tenants and social and/or assisted housing providers improve the energy efficiency of their homes through the installation of: 

  • energy-saving light bulbs
  • a power bar
  • a low-flow showerhead (in homes with electric water heating)
  • faucet aerators (in homes with electric water heating)

Objectives and Description:

The Audit Funding Program offers financial incentives to eligible business owners and tenants towards the cost of an energy audit to help prioritize the best opportunities to reduce energy costs. The audits provide businesses with the data needed to fully understand the financial benefits of installing a variety of energy-efficient measures. Funding is provided for up to 50 percent of the project cost where calculations are based on building size and audit complexity, and ranges from $5,000-$35,000.

Home Assistance Program is designed to help homeowners and tenants better manage their energy costs. Eligibility is based on income and the type of home. Hydro One works with qualified individuals to find smart, simple ways to improve the home's energy efficiency – at no cost. It recommends and installs the upgrades the home qualifies for, including energy-efficient appliances, energy-saving light bulbs, low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators, programmable thermostats, power bars and home insulation and draft proofing.
