A free Home Winterproofing Program for low-income customers to improve the comfort and energy efficiency of their homes and reduce their gas bills by up to 30 per cent.


Who can participate

Customers who pay their natural gas bill and live in homes built prior to 1980 that use a gas furnace and who either:

This program is also offered free to social housing providers who use natural gas for heating.

What you can get:

Home Winterproofing Program

  • A free assessment of your home by an Enbridge delivery agent to assess what energy-saving upgrades you can receive free of charge. These could include: new insulation and draft proofing, low-flow showerheads, kitchen and bathroom aerators and programmable thermostats.
  • Installation of energy-efficient upgrades by a professional contractor.
  • Home audit to measure how the energy-efficiency of your home has improved once the upgrades have been installed.

Smart Thermostat $100 Rebate for Ontario Homes 

Using a smart thermostat to control your home heating and cooling makes it easy to reduce your carbon footprint. If you live in Ontario, you could receive a $100 rebate for purchasing an eligible smart thermostat.

Who Can Participate

If you live in a house, condominium or apartment unit in Ontario, you could be eligible as long as your heating and cooling system is compatible. If you rent, you must receive consent from your landlord to participate.

Smart thermostats do the leg work of keeping your home comfortable as efficiently as possible. They manage energy use in your home by learning your schedule and preferences, automatically delivering comfort when you're there and savings when you're not. Enjoy features like automated energy saving adjustments and maintenance alerts. Plus, with Wi-Fi technology, you control your thermostat from anywhere – on your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

Starting December 13, 2017 purchase and install one of the qualifying smart thermostat models and receive a $100 rebate.

You can purchase a smart thermostat online from manufacturer websites or at local home improvement stores.

How it Works

  1. Purchase and install one of the eligible smart thermostat models.
  2. Connect your smart thermostat to Wi-Fi then register your smart thermostat online with the manufacturer.
  3. Submit your rebate application through the manufacturer’s rebate portal:

Home Energy Conservation Program

Get up to $5,000 back for making efficiency upgrades throughout your whole home. Plus receive additional rebates to upgrade electrical appliances.


Who can participate

Homeowners with natural gas, oil, propane, electric and wood-stove heated homes in the Enbridge program area.

To participate, you must get an assessment of your home’s current energy use by an approved energy advisor who will suggest how you can make improvements to your home’s energy efficiency. You will need to implement at least two energy upgrades to receive incentives.

What you can get:

Get up to $5,000 back in home energy efficiency incentives for home improvements such as new insulation, windows, water heaters, furnaces and boilers through the Enbridge Home Energy Conservation Program. If you complete more than two of these upgrades you'll qualify for an extra $250 rebate for each additional improvement. Your rebate will also include $600 towards the cost of the pre- and post-audit assessments completed for your home. The more energy you save, the more money you’ll get back from the program.

Here are some of the additional rebates you can receive:

  • $600 toward the cost of the pre- and post-renovation assessments.
  • Additional rebates to replace existing electric appliances such as,

     

    • Fridges ($75)
    • Freezers ($75)
    • Clothes washers ($75)
    • Dehumidifiers ($30)
  • Incentives are also available to upgrade your existing window air conditioner or install a new central air conditioning system.

Home Energy Conservation Program

You could also receive between $500 to $5,800 for eligible air source heat pumps depending on your existing fuel source.

This program is delivered by Enbridge Gas Distribution in partnership with the Green Ontario Fund and Save on Energy
