Foundation Drain Collector (FDC) Sump Pump Subsidy Program
A sump pump subsidy program has been established to assist homeowners that live on streets serviced by the municipal foundation drain collector (FDC) system and provide an additional safeguard against basement water infiltration. The City is offering eligible homeowners a financial subsidy to install a sump pump with up to 100 per cent of the cost, to a maximum of $6,000 per household.
To assist homeowners in making a well-informed decision on installing a sump pump, we recommend that homeowners refer to the ‘Handbook for Reducing Basement Flooding’ by the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR).
