Objectives and Description:

Retrofit Program provides financial incentives for replacing existing equipment with high-efficiency equipment and for installing new control systems that will improve the efficiency of operational procedures and processes. Eligible measures under the program are those that provide sustainable, measurable and verifiable reductions in peak electricity demand and/or electricity consumption, including lighting retrofits, lighting controls, HVAC redesign, chiller replacement, increased insulation, installation of high performance windows and frames or low emissive roof barriers. Incentives include:

  • up to $400 for every kilowatt saved for lighting measures and 
  • up to $800 for every kilowatt saved for non-lighting projects

Objectives and Description:

Process & Systems Upgrade Program provides design assistance and financial incentives for building owners and architects who exceed the electricity efficiency standards specified in the Ontario Building Code. Building owners will receive up to $400 for every kilowatt saved for lighting measures and up to $800 for every kilowatt saved for non-lighting projects, or up to $75 per multi-residential in-suite appliance. They are also eligible to receive up to 100% of the cost of modelling a building or addition.

The Audit Funding Program offers financial incentives to eligible business owners and tenants towards the cost of an energy audit to help prioritize the best opportunities to reduce energy costs. The audits provide businesses with the data needed to fully understand the financial benefits of installing a variety of energy-efficient measures. Funding is provided for up to 50 percent of the project cost where calculations are based on building size and audit complexity, and ranges from $5,000-$35,000.
